That is why I posted the thread the way I did "I want good sound". I have no desire to fill up my ext. cab with speakers,
NEVER put a amp in the doors. and those baffles only inhibit the speakers performance. a properly deadened and sealed door is all you need. And you dont need to. Any good quality 5 X 7 or 6 X 8 will give you good sound. And you can make a few improvements. An amplifier would be a great improvement. Find something small in the 75-watt ( or More)RMS range. A two channel amp will work, just put it on the front doors.
Dynomat the doors. Big improvement. Think ouf it like this, the only thing we want vibrating is the speaker. ( I even have Dynomat in the roof )
A baffle will also help improve sound.

You can find these cheap in any wrecking yard, 88 and 89 T-Birds had these on the rear speakers.
You can get incredible sound without a sub.
if you can't hear the difference between speakers, even on a 50 watt head unit you are tone death.
mb quartz was an odm of JL, they are a great brand with very decent prices
Damn guys put away the knives and grenades!!!! I just saw two pics of custom enclosures that mount where the jack compartment is, so that is probably where the sub is going. Ok now lets all throw a few punches over the 8" MB Quart sub, good or bad? I got it new for $60. Let the games begin.
mb quart has nothing to do with jl audio
