Hey guys, I have a remanufatured M5 being put in my truck, (94 ranger 4.0 4x2 . When the trans came it had a sticker on it saying 10W30 oil only. My book says Mercon ATF. Have any of you heard of this?? Thanks a lot.

It takes ATF for sure.

Make sure they used metal plugs, top rear, to seal the shift rail holes, rubber ones will start leaking over time.

I know that Ford says ATF. The re-builder says motor oil. That sticker was put on there for a reason. Maybe even by mistake; but, .........

If it were me, I would check with the builder before doing something that would void the warranty on that new transmission.
