so i currently have a 4.0 ohv engine, with a m50d 5 speed, ive been wanting to switch to an automatic for awhile.
i also have a 97 sohc 4.0, and a m90 supercharger im wanting to attach to it, this may or may not happen for awhile, so im wanting to put the 5r55e behind the ohv untill the swap happens.
i know it will bolt up.
my question is, do i just need the transmission computer from a 97 to control the 5r55e, or do i need more? also i read about a overdrive drum sensor, what is that and do i need it?
also im not worried about building this transmission, i have rebuilt transmissions before.
and yes i do know that i will be crossing the obd1/obd2 barrier, but ive already done that.. currently running a 96 engine on a 94 computer, with no problems.
