5R55E with a 3.0l

I have a 2003 Edge with a 3.0l v6. According to the service sticker it has a 5R55E transmission. This seems to be kinda rare. Does anyone else have this combo from the factory.

If I read my tag and the tech section right, I have the same trans in my 3.0

Now I am learning that it is a 5R44E which is supposedly in the 3.0 and the 2.3. However the door sticker has a "D" on it. So I dont know. Hopefully someone will be able to help ID it.

my tag says the same thing, anyone else with more knowledge able to verify? 2005 xlt with a 3.0

its a 5r55e all rangers come with that transmission. the only diffrence is the 4x4 that come with a transfercase. its a typical transmission.

Not true, there is a 5R55E, 4R55E and a 4R44E. I think WNY964X4 knows the difference

if you have what is stated in your left hand side picture then sorry to say but the 99 is a 5r55e, and the 94 is a 4r44e or possibly a 4r55e. if its a 2003 its a 5r55e, ive bult many 5r55e's
