i have an 01 ranger 4.0 and 4x4 what years can i get a automatic transmission from? mine is fubar'ed due to poor maintenance on the prievious owners part i need one bad TRS saysa the 97 to 04 ranger runs the same transmission but will my computer shift all of them from 97 and up or just an 01

Can't say for sure but I'd say from 97 to very possibly 08 would be the same. Maybe shift linkage and range sensor differences but nothing that can't be over come.
