50 Worst Cars Of All Time....Sorta

The Pinto squire IIRC, my mom had one still says it was the best car she owned.

I remember when he brought it home, it was yellow with fake wood sides...... stripped off the paneling and painted it bright ford red........ had a V6 and 4spd........ 76 I believe .............. 3 years later it had a tire smoking 351. I was 8 years old then..... my dad also had a VW square back wagon......

My mom always (until she got married to husband #2) had either a Camaro or a Trans-am.

Worst car ever built....... the Geo Metro with the 3 cyl. engine. I drove one that was an automatic convertible, and you had to floor it to keep up with your average 2.3l ranger. What a piece of shit. (pardon my french)

Wow, they also missed the Chevy Astro, the first gen Taurus, of course the Vega, the Mustang II, etc etc etc.... what a douche.

accually the mustang II was an ugly monstrosity, but they sure made some good front ends...everyone whos building anything cool wants to get their hands on one....even chevy guys

I don't quite understand explorer.
Wasn't the Ford Explorer that vehicle that came with massive recalls with defective Firestone tires?

I can't remember.:bawling:

No. The Explorer was the vehicle with a terrible suspension that Ford hired an army of lawyers to blame on tires. Many shops had reported at the time no blown tires on rolled Explorers. Now we have extra massive warning stickers to cover some asses from people that think Explorers are race cars. That was the real problem. People simply drove them too fast for it's design. I think those same people could have rolled a Blazer just as easily. But maybe not.

Firestone Tire Recall & Ford Explorer Rollovers. The recent rash of tread separations resulting in the national recall of Firestone tires produced hundreds of product liability and defective tire lawsuits against Bridgestone / Firestone and Ford Motor Company.

These recalled Firestone tires that came as original equipment on the Ford Explorer (which often rolled over as a result of the tread separation) are examples of claims of a defect - in these cases, both the tire and the vehicle were claimed to be defective. Because the tire is a component of the vehicle itself, plaintiffs claimed that the entire vehicle, as a system, is defective. (Even one of Ford's experts agreed that the Ford Explorer with Firestone tires was a defect) Further, because the Ford Explorer SUV itself was claimed to have a high center of gravity and historic instability problems, plaintiffs also contend that the Ford Explorer itself is defective.

The claims of defect in the Explorer include model years 1991-1994, which had the Twin I-Beam suspension, which dangerously raised the SUV's center of gravity in turning motions and in accident avoidance maneuvers (a concept referred to as "jacking") and subsequent model years,1995 -2001, when Ford replaced the Twin I Beam suspension with the SLA ("short/long arm") suspension which was 200 pounds lighter, and failed to lower the engine - a dangerous subsequent design which also resulted in a raised center of gravity and also produced the rollover effect in the Explorer.
