Well the motor runs in diff firing orders other then the 302 and 351, but runs like shit. I think this is due to the dist not being at TDC, but when we went to pull the dizzy we heard the relays keep kicking on and off. Tried another dizzy and it did the same thing.

We then noticed the base of the dizzy had a positive charge and arced to grounded metal.. Ive never heard of this, but on the TFI sensor there is only two positives, the positive in and the (-) from coil. Anyone ever heard of this or is it normal to have the base of the dizzy hot?

base should not be hot.

the reluctor as the rotor turns will trip the relays though to run the pump when power is on.

I don't understand. Is this a question? Love to help out, but I don't understand this.

If I remember correctly the tfi uses the distributor case as a ground. if the distributor is not mounted and the ignition is on, the case would then appear to be positive relative to the battery ground. In that case, that would be normal.

Yea this is how I felt, but when it is mounted and you try to turn it to fine adjust the timing, the relays click on and off
