5.0 tranny question

ok i have a question can you take a tranny,lets say has come out of a 4wd bronco, with a 5.0. can you do away with the transfer case and dont some company make a tail shaft that bolts onto the tranny so you can run 2 wd. I was talking to a guy at work and he says no you cant do that and there is no adapter for it.

Yes, you can do that and there are several companies that should make the tailshaft, but I know of one that does. You will also need a 2WD tailshaft housing from the same trans, and the company that has the output shaft is
Ford motor company, but other companies that sell rebuild kits should be able to sell you one, or at least locate one for you. If you ask around the 4x4 crowd someone will or have done the 2WD to 4WD conversion and may have the parts you need
