I have a 2001 ford ranger (2.3 duratec) with a 98 ford explorer 5.0 and a fox body t5. It runs well and seems all functions are working but the oil pressure sensor is reading on the coolant temp gauge and when I ground both the coolant and oil pressure sensor they both read on the coolant temperature gauge. is there some repining required on the dash. I also hear something about the tachometer needing to be repined to work but it seems to be reading something at least.

Sounds like maybe a bad ground somewhere?

The one wire is to correct the tach reading. I’ve done it twice on 2000 Rangers now.

A 98 Explorer is a lousy donor for a 98+ Ranger because it has PATs but still a return line on the fuel rail. Kinda curious how you handled that. Not sure what wiring differences you may have run into, I used 2000 Explorer donors for my swaps and just had to adapt the AC and starting wires.

Everything is good to go it runs good and seems to be wired right. It’s only the dash wiring. The 2001 rangers switched to the duratec 2.3 which I’m assuming may have something to do with the issue. It is fine to drive now I would just like to be able to monitor temps.
