I was going to use mustang convertible motor mounts in my 5.0 swap ranger but a friend of mine was saying the engine would sit lower with those mounts. Never heard of this before so I figured I would throw it out there. If so wouldn't this cause other issues with the driveline? Or am I overthinking it?

What's wrong with your name?(sarcasm)

What year mustang? i tried to use the ones from an sn-95 and it was just not gonna happen, I read somewhere in the forum you needed two of the same side. Either way I deemed it too much trouble to go looking for or ordering new ones. Ijust doubled up a 1/8 plate and it eventually worked great, getting the alignment right was the hardest part. measure measure measure, then mock them up. sits just right after all said and done.

The late 85 to 93 convertible motor mounts then swap left and right I read. But now i just picked up a 98 mountaineer cheap and so idk if those will work in a 90 with a 2.3 but ill probably get those adapter plates and 4.0 motor mounts.

I used the TransDapt adapter plates and early Bronco rubber mounts. Worked perfect in my 87 and the engine doesn't seem to sit high up at all.. I did have to grind a little on one of the mounts, on one corner closest to the block, but it was a tiny amount. Took 2 second to do.

I'd be interested in purchasing those 2.3 2wd engine mounts from you. I need the frame brackets, not the rubber isolator part.
