Anybody own one? how much power? got those gt40 heads does the awd bog it down any?..........Never hear any reports about performance/tow capability, just curious, saw one on used lot. Are all the 5.0 exploders awd?

i have a '96 5.0 expo AWD with the gt40 heads and intake (NOT gt40p heads) and it makes pretty good power considering what it is, the only time ive had it bog down at all was when i almost got stuck in mud behind my house, granted it was damn near buried and the explorer is all stock, IMO if its a good deal go for it, got mine for like $600 and ive gotten my moneys worth out of it several times over. 160k on the clock now still runs good

My brother has a 98 5.0 explorer w/ awd. I have only drove it a handful of times. One time was towing my dad 2000 closed bow mastercraft. not a heavy boat, but I notice it behind my ranger. His explorer did it fine, but the ass end sags a lot. I think he put helper springs on it.

I think he has the GT40p heads if I read another thread on that motor right. I have no idea and he probably doesnt even know what weight oil goes into it.
