wat should i adjust my kick down cable to?just take out the slack or put a little pressure on it? i have to use zip ties to adjust it.if its to tight it runs up to about 3500 before it shifts. and that to much for a street stip truck.any coments would help.thank you:icon_idea:

You need to have a gauge in the TV pressure port on the passenger side of the trans. It should be around 30 psi with a certain size spacer between the cable and the linkage on the carb. I've got a bolt the right size at work with a groove in it for the cable, but I don't remember what size it is off hand.

Hello

On my AOD on my 86 t-bird I set it up so my OD would kick in at 70 km/hr. Its been 10 years since I did that and no problems.

The one we have it work is a fluid filled gauge with about 6 feet of hose on it that is meant for testing line pressures on trannys. You pull the TV port plug out of the side of the trans and thread in the end of the hose. Ours is a rotunda tool from ford.
