5.0, 302 oil pressure?

So the extension off the 2.8 will fit in place of the idiot light senor on the 302, remember, you and me have the same blocks out of the same type of cars, or at least HAD the same type of engines at one time.

Yes, the 2.8 extension fit my block perfectly.

Guess I'll put that in before I put the rad in.

I got mine hooked up today as said the way above and I got 50psi on a cold start and after about ten minutes if running it was at 35-40 psi.

That's weird cuz everything I've read we're supposed to have 20-24 psi. I hope we don't have somethin wrong with our oil galleries! I was thinkin about putting ATF in mine to clean it out then changing the oil after I put 50 miles on it.

After further warming up Im at 20-25 psi at idle.

Couldn't ask for better! More than needed, but the drop from cold to hot is normal.

Get that radiator in!:icon_thumby:

Ok so a lil update. When I start it up it holds at 55. After it warms up, idles down it drops to 45. On a warm day it will get to 35 once the block temp reaches 190 deg. Otherwise the temp keeps at 180 deg.

Mines the same. Started up on the coldest day, 29 degrees, and was at 55psi on the high idle. Lowest when warmed up is 25psi. I don't knit engine temp for anything though, need to either get a new manual gauage or hook up my nice electric ones. Only reason why i don't have them hooked up, need adaptors to get them screwed in the block and was running out if time on my v8 swap to get it done.
