Hey, I'm looking into doin a 4x4 swap in my ranger this summer (I know it's a lot of work to do right) and I was wondering what transmission/t-cases bolt up to the 2.3L? I.E from the 2.9? 4L? 5L? explorer?*etc... If anyone has any knowledge in this area it would be greatly appreciated. also if anyone has done any hybrids like a tracker t-case with a ranger tranny or anything like that feel free to fill me in. I'm not afraid to do a good amount of fabbing, as long as it doesnt take a machine shop to do it. to an extent.

Thanks, Hope to hear some replys. Just want a reliable setup for a resonable coin. I will be going dana 44 solid axles also.

The only tranny that will bolt up to a 2.3 is one from a 2.3 or 2.5. They do exist in 4x4 models, you just have to look around for it.

You can also take any 4wd M5OD-R1, Pull the tailhousing and swap it to yours. Then add a BW1350 or 1354...
