4X4 Ranger Edge Standard cab 4.0??

Thanks Jay! I'm glad to finally have her in the driveway! Now I suppose I gotta buy a carport to cover her up too... :yahoo:

The only bad thing about the situation is, I gotta get it inspected before I can officially register/title it in Illinois. So the state police will have a looksy and they'll see the almost bald tires. I don't want to buy new tires just for the inspection, and I was hoping to be able to take my time looking for just the right deal on some nice wheels before I bought tires. Possibly a body lift as well.

I think I'll just take it to them and tell them the full story as I've explained here, then tell them I'm waiting to buy the wheels and tires, and hope for the best..

I've got my fingers crossed.

Well after I got to the DMV it turned out I didn't have to get her inspected after all. I was looking through all of the original books, service records, manuals and paperwork today and was pleasantly surprised to find this little document!!

Note the optional equipment in the second picture.. :headbang:

i have a standard cab and often wish i had an extended cab. i often find that i dont have much room to store stuff inside my truck where i feel it is safer. just a thought but i get guess its your truck and it should be how you want it to be

Just be thankful for your gas mileage with that 2.3L.. You could get yourself a camper shell or tonneau cover??

I've already got an 89 model, and while it's a standard cab too, I can pack it full of whatever I have to.

This is my Saturday night truck... :icon_thumby:

:icon_twisted: Thank Dog they didn't charge for that license bracket!! :icon_rofl:

That original window sticker is full of odd stuff that I don't really understand. Ford is soooo generous..

"adjustable height front seats" What? So far I've only seen the front to back adjustment and the reclining adjustment..

"securilock" Hmmm??

"Battery saver" Huh??

Ok. I'm gonna have my local Ford specialist (very trustworthy and reasonably priced) give my truck the once over just to try and catch anything I may have missed on my inspection/testdrive.. Drop it off Tuesday..

Couple of quick questions though..

Does anyone have the actual Ford part numbers for the #1 torsion bars? I believe them to be the heaviest bars available and were used in the Sportrac??

Also, what kind of backspacing should I be thinking about if I replace the 16" wheel/tire setup with 32x11.50 tires on 15x8" wheels? Can't hurt to add some backspacing I figure..

I have seached plenty on here but there is quite a bit of conflicting info, so any direct answers would be GREATLY APPRECIATED guys! :icon_thumby:

These are the parts numbers for #1 torsion bars:
F67Z-5B326-FA Pass side
F67Z-5B326-FB Driver side

I'm not sure exactly what grade of bars the truck has already. I'd say it's a safe bet to say they're not number 1 bars though. I'll have to look to be sure first..

On a different note, I CAN'T BELIEVE the prices of mud tires these days! I was looking at some Dunlop mud terrains and they were $190 each! WOW! Tires sure have went up..

According to the door tag, underneath the "spr" box is "FC" so I'm pretty sure even though it's a 4x4 it still came with somewhat lighter torsion bars..?

GB :)

It means you have "F" bars. Not #1's. Where the hells Shane when you need him. There's a thread in the 4x4 suspension section and he explained all this crap. lol.

I've got a pretty good understanding of it now. Just finding out the part numbers and finding what bars I already had was half of the battle here..

Thanks everybody, for the assistance!!! :yahoo:
