I have been searching the site and im not finding alot on 4x4 stuff. Could someone give me a link or something?
Basicly im the owner of a 94 ranger 4x4 and it had the 3.0L in it. Im wanting to drop in a SC3.8 RWD engine and i see the 5 speed trans is too small for the 3.8 and i was told that a trans and tc from a 4x4 f150 will work but will i need to use different drive shafts? what all will i have to do to the drive train to get this to work? has anyone else done this conversion before? Any info and help is appricated and thank you

I'll tell you what I said in your last post about this... (I'll elaborate a little more.)

Get a M5OD-R2 from a 97+ f150 4.2l v6. Its hydro clutch, it puts the shifter in a better spot then the older M5R2, bolts up to the 3.8l (also the 5.0/5.8l). The 4406 from the same truck is a good choice for a t-case, or a NP205. Either will fit between the frame rails and bolt up to the trans.

Do you mean the 4.6 and 5.4?

The sbf bell housing pattern should only be available on 302w, 351w and the 300 inline six

The windsor pattern is used on:

200 I6 1978-1983 only, partial (4 of 6 bolts) pattern.
250 I6
255 V8
289 V8 - (made after August 3, 1964) - had 6 bolts holding bellhousing to block
302 Cleveland (Australia)
351 Cleveland V8 (not the 351 Cleveland M-block engine)
351 Boss
351 Cobra Jet
351 Windsor V8
400 Cleveland M-block V8 aka 400FMX (certain 1973 casting numbers D1AE and D3AE, mated to the FMX transmission)
3.8/3.9/4.2L Canadian Essex 90° V6 (RWD only)
240 I6
300 I6
4.6L Modular V8 (first two casting runs, numbers F1AE and F2VE)
5.0L V8
5.8L V8

I can positively assure everyone that the 3.8 Supercoupe engine WILL NOT bolt
to any windsor pattern transmission.

I've got a supercoupe transmission that I'm essentially stuck with because I bought it "on request" for someone who wanted to use it in a 2wd 5.0swap.

When I pointed out that (after I had it) that it wouldn't do what they thought it was going to do they thanked me very much and left me stuck with it.

I dont know what trans you have, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that a 3.8SC and the 5.0/5.8l use the same bolt pattern.

I have bolted a SC motor to a c4, t5, and a NP435. 302 swaps are common when guys blow up their SC engine, no one has ever needed to swap the trans because it didnt bolt up.

I'm not the worlds biggest expert when it comes to SCs, but I have owned at least one and built them for the past 15 years and swapped dozens of motors in and out of SCs. Dont believe me, go over to SCCOA (Supercoupe club of America)and search there, you'll see.
