4X4 help!!!

i have a 1994 ford ranger 5 speed 4x4 xlt with the 4.0 and my 4x4 randomly it kicks out of 4x4 like when i am accererating or just crusing through the snow in any gear 4lo or high same thing, i have the mechanical lever not the electric

do you have a body lift? Sounds like your shifter is not engaging properly, Prolly someone did the clutch or something and mis aligned the linkage. Follow the linkage setting writeup in the tech library and that should fix the popping out problem.

found out what it was the passenger side locking hub is shot, i found out about it when i was replacing the u-joints

easier fix for sure. i'd go with a new set of Warn manual hubs and save the other good one for a spare (assuming it is also manual). good luck with this.

figured out that it wasnt the problem i put a new one on and it still does it, does any one know how to adjust the linkage it might be off becaust it does it in 4 lo or 4 hi
