has anyone done a 4x4 to 2wd swap? planning on doing a street truck out of a b2 i picked up cheap and its 4 wheel drive. plans as of now are a carbed 302, 5 speed, and a nice static drop. nothing crazy. as far as i can tell it looks like i will have to get a 2wd ranger crossmember as i already have a set of drop beams for a ranger. is that all? will i need a new pitman arm and steering link? any input is greatly appreciated.

Im not sure if the ranger 2wd beams are different from the bronco II 2wd beams, but if not then all you would need is the 2wd passenger beam drop bracket.

Ranger beams are diff then b2 beams. B2 lowered beams are more expensive then the ranger ones. U will need the 2wdranger crossmember, pivot brackets, radius arms and beams

Good luck on the crossmemberits gonna be a lot of fun, although will be easier since u are gonna have the engine out. Might wanna bolt or tack a piece of angle iron on the front so the frame don't twist while u have the xmember out. Will help in lining he bolts up on the ranger xmember

Hope this helps and good luck with the mods

I parted out a 2 wheel drive BII , and was surprised to find that it had 4x4 beams with a plug where the axles would have come thru.

I do not remember the year of the Bronco.

my 89 2wd b2 doesn't have anything like that it. it has some solid beams that look nothing like the 4x4 beams.

thanks for the input guys. im not worried about swapping the crossmember. ive done a few in the past on rangers but never a b2. im super surprised at how clean the truck i picked up is. things are coming apart very easily. and as said before i already have ranger drop beams. i think this swap will be pretty straight forward. ill be doing a build thread with all the pics once its done.
