I win. Finally got it figured out and back together.
I laid out all the parts side by each and started measuring. Everything was the same except for a couple of the spacers that go on after the lock nuts. I only needed a tiny bit of space in order to fit the c-clip on the left side and had a tiny bit of extra space on the right. So I simply switched a couple of the fat ones from the left side for the skinny ones on the right and tada. it fit.
