Found out today that the shop didn't secure the filler neck to the bed when they were doing some work and different places tell me different things about what I should use to attach it. Any guidance? I've seen both #12 and #10 self tapping screws?

I Think they're smaller than that. Try #8s. But if they're too small, step up to a size that fits. They're cheap and it only takes 3.

Primarily even numbers are what you commonly find.

However, they could be metric, which would just be designated by their diameter in millimeters.

It's not critical to be exact with that. You jist want it to hold. So, if a #8 is too loose, use a #10 and let the screw stretch the hole to its new size.

One more thing. The screw should slip through the hole in the fender without threading. It should only thread into the hole on the filler flange behind the fender.

These fit nicely. They are 0.165" diameter or 4.2mm. Thatmatches nicely with some #8 sheet metal screws I have in a package.
