i was wondering if anyone modified there pvh hubs to stay locked in by removing the metal tab inside what kind of differances they noticed.how much does it affect fuel milege, can it still be actuated on the fly or do you have to be stopped?also what differance do you notice on dry roads in two wheel drive?thanks

Yes, it can still be actuated on the fly. I don't think you'll notice any difference in 2wd. The 2001+ trucks have an almost identical setup, except they don't have hubs. The front axle is permanently engaged and they feel the same as the 98-00 trucks. The gas mileage may go down 0.5-1 mpg at the most.

thanks for the info.i did the hub modification this morning and it works great.:yahoo:
