Thank you for the additional info: saved to file...Went ahead and changed out the dash switch and the Transfer Case Motor even though they weren't my problem...Kept the old parts for spares because you never know!
I know my input was just a small piece of the overall puzzle, but in my case it got me going and cost me $0, so added my experience to the mix in case someone might benefit by it...My Ranger is a 2001 XLT with the 4.0l v6/auto trans and has 150k miles...Bought it new in '02, and so far it has been least trouble/most dependable I have ever had with a vehicle, and I'll keep it until the wheels get square...Cheers!
