ive got a 91 ranger 2.9 5spd 4wd with the push button 4wd and auto hubs. 4wd will no longer engage. i replaced the switch and it still doesnt work. i checked for power going to the switches, and it seems to have power up there, but it doesnt seem to have power down at the transfer case, as i crawled under there with a test light last night. it doesnt have power if i have someone hit the button at the same time as i check it either. i also looked at all the fuses and they all seem to be fine. any ideas on what i need to get my 4wd to work again?

thanks guys.. cory

My first guess would be the 4x4 box behind the drivers seat. it also has a reset button on it.

i wondered what that box was for the other day when i was looking behind the seat. ill have to check it out

I would at least pop it open to look for corrosion. If its minor corrosion I would clean it up. if its bad then I would look for another. And around here I seen lots of those boxes in the wrecking yards.

and how do i go about resetting this said box?
