4wd conversion?

I know I already posted a thread similar to this but I checked under the conversion section in tech article and couldn't find what I wanted. I'm curious on if I can swap the transmission, transfer case, front axles etc out of a 4wd into a 2wd? Both are a 2.9 but one is a reg cab long box and mine is a extended cab. I know the drive shafts will be different but can it be done? What all would I need to change for it to be done? The donor drive runs and drives so swapping should be fairly easy

Engine cross member has to be swapped too. There are 7 or 8 rivets and 7 or 8 welds (total) that must be cut to remove the piece from the frame. It also requires removing the engine and getting the cab jacked up.

Would the trans cross members need to be swapped as well? Mine currently is a Mitsubishi trans but I'm going to put a Mazda in
