I got a 96 b4000 4x4 with the 4r55e. She's on her way out so I am trying to decide if I should buy another 4r55e ($1300 new) or do a m5od-r1 swap.

Is a 4r55e to m5od-r1 swap even possible? If so, what would I need? Thanks.

Maybe this is why I couldn't find anything with the search function. :icon_bounceblue:

i kninda want to know the same thing, ive bee researching it and from what i can tell its pretty much plug and play, tranny has the same bolt patter, and is same length so you can re use the drive shaft and the harness is all swappable, the only thing id be worried about is the pedal assembly and hooking up the slave cylinder and getting all the hydraulics ran correctly

Thanks for the info. It is just odd how the only swap info I could find had to do with the A4LD.

This swap is exactly the same an A4LD to M5OD swap and has been done a million times before. Just follow one of the A4LD swap threads.

Okay thanks boss. That is the little bit of info that I needed. :icon_thumby:
