4r55e no reverse

this has me baffled, all forward gears work fine. no codes, i have engine braking in manual 1 and 2. when i put it in reverse you can feel it engage and see it engage by the tach dropping slightly. but when i try and back up the engine just revs up and it won't pull. fluid is full and not burnt. it was working fine then one day last week it just wasn't there. any ideas?

Then he wouldn't have engine braking in MAN1. Blown out valve body gaskets display this symptom sometimes. I'd start there.

this seems to be a strange situation, i didn't have reverse when i got the truck back(trans replaced under warranty) so i adjusted the shifter cable and i got reverse back( as long as i didn't go from "d" back to "r") weird huh?? so i tried the cable adjustment again this week and to no avail...arghhh!!

i will try the gaskets this weekend if my my local blue oval dealer can find them for me....

figure this out.....reverse started working again today????? wtf?

ok....so sometimes i have reverse and sometimes i don't. i still don't have it if i go from "D" to "R" ....

does some one have a good pic of the internal linkage the controls the manual valve so i know what to look for when i take the pan off this weekend?

replaced separator plate gaskets, got them ford. now i have no forward gears unless i put it in man1 or man2, reverse some times. on the highway in OD it comes in and out of gear.

not sure what to do except a gallon of gas and a match.....
