95 4.0 4x4 auto trans (4R55E) 97k miles.. sometimes I get a shudder at highway speeds, its like 3 very small, quick succession revs and then nothing abnormal. This does not feel like the slip and bang of the slipping Ford trannies I am used to, and does not happen all the time (it happened this morning on my highway onramp, hasnt happened there in a few weeks, but has before). I do have a very slow leak from the pan gasket but I always keep the fluid where it should be. Trying to avoid any major problems, is this a simple problem with an easy fix, or just deal with it until the trans needs to be rebuilt?

I don't normaly respond to vibration concerns simply because it can be caused by just about anything. My best advise is to take to a shop for diagnosis. Not a trans shop but a GOOD general repair shop. Or a Ford dealer.
