'been working a bit on the delayed 1-2 shift problem. replaced all the shift solenoids, the ECP, and seperator plate (with integral gaskets). Time to wrap it up and install an inline filter on the cooler return line. Don't know which is in or out. Haynes and Chiltons don't help, and I don't really want to start it up and see which line squirts the farthest as then I'd have another mess in the driveway to clean up. The upper line comes out at a 45 degree angle and goes to the external air cooler, the lower line points straight out and goes to the top of the radiator side tank. Also, any idea on the pressures in those lines?

FYI, the new seperator plate from Ford has gaskets adhered to it on both the top and bottom.

Thanks in advance.

double FYI: you young guys enjoy it while you still can, lying on your back under a truck ain't no fun anymore. I'm damn near 60 and get one hell of a headache under there.

Top line at the radiator is the output line, then it goes through the external cooler and back to the transmission.

i know where you're coming from...i'm 47 and i know it's a hell of a lot more work crawling around rigs than it used to be.

i'm afraid of what the next ten years is going to bring....
