My credo
God is great, beer is good, and rangers are awesome!
Afraid to put my Ranger in 4lo. Its a 98, and it goes in and out of 4hi no problem. I've heard that these things sometimes get stuck in 4lo. Yeah, i guess there is only one way to find out, but i don't feel like driving home at about 10-20 mph. So, my question is, has it ever happened to yall, and how to fix it? Any other advice would be great!

If you are stuck in 4 low roll the vehicle backwards a foot or two, then put it back in N and try again. A lot of times the "getting stuck" is a physical binding in the case and taking the load off will let it shift.

Hopefully its that easy! I have to cross a very rocky creek when i go hunting, and its not the funnest in 4hi, too fast.

Never had any of my Rangers, past or present, get stuck in 4lo.

You can always get a Shiftster: http://theshiftster.com/

And take it with you with some tools
