put new 4cyl into 1986 4x4 5spd man hub ranger yesterday went to woods any tough stuff and it comes out of 4x4-tried holding it in while driving but still disengaged-btw 4hi seemed fine but have not regeared yet (has 285/75-16 tires 4 in lift)

I fhe has tires that big in a 86 then he has to be body lifted. This will prevent the shifter from seating properly, it will have to be extended. Send us a pic of the truck.
no body lift it is all suspension (4 lift from jc whitney/rough country) tires are 31.6 inches tall -I read something about t-case adjustment after engine removal and or tranny removal (both were done)-engine does fine ,trans does fine but T-case does not like 4L? any advice on these adjustments?
