4cyl/8 spark plugs

there it is! :)
I edited my post to include the following: During engine start, if there is a problem with the pass side plugs not firing, the truck won't start because the driver's side is inhibited.:)shady

Who the hell are you? Ive been working on my ignition for the last three months. I had 2 dead points in the waste spark coil of my 92 2.3l. I've swapped wires swapped coils run plugs checks on each of them at least a hundred times. I get fire from all points whether starting running in open cycle or after the engine in warmed up. My primary spark is my driver side plugs. And dont be so Fuggin rude with your reponses. A simple I think you might be mistaken would have worked just fine.

Edit:: I just saw the post about the spark inhibit. I have never experienced this before. However my dual spark 2.3 mustang ('93) and this ranger I have now('92) were both over 100k by alot, Its possible my system has a problem.
No more rude than your incorrect statement contradicting what I had said previously. If you were to look around the web just a little, you would find information on how this circuit works. Then you might be able to diagnose and repair your vehicle. There is no such thing as a "waste spark coil".:)shady

The waste spark coil is the secondary coil. Whatever you wanna call it. You drive a 4.0 right? My vehicle is repaired by the way. I had a bad MAF, after replacing the secondary coil. I only mention what I've experienced. My comment may have been incorrect, but it was not rude. I have experienced something different than what you posted and that is what I posted. I spend alot of time reading your tech articles on this site, but that doesnt mean we dont experience things differently than what is posted. Please PM any other responses I dont wanna jack dude post any more than we already have.

No, compadre. There is no such thing as "The waste spark coil".

*edit* I'm not very good at this, but let's give it a try. Look at this picture, then look at this drawing. You can see the same thing by connecting your multimeter to your plug wires, just remember they're paired #1 with #4 and #2 with #3. Just concentrate on one coil for a moment. Understand one coil then we can talk about two. Do you see why it's called "wasted spark"? Each spark is paired with another on the same coil, but only one of the two sparks is actually doing any useful work. The other is "wasted".
I'll hold up here to make sure everyone agrees before we go any further.

Peace, Dawgs.

True, however one plug is providing igniton for combustion on one cylinder and the other plug in the series is waste spark on the alternate cylinder.

In the next firing sequence, they swap and the plug that was waste spark is now the primary plug, and the plug that was providing ignition for combustion is now the waste spark.:)shady

Look, Shadey, they're speechless. (Or asleep.)
Guess I'll move on now that I've laid waste to another thread. :icon_twisted:
See ya around.
