This is my first post although I have looked around this sight for over a year.
Well I picked up a '90 Ranger 2.3L 5 spd. off of Craigslist for $450. Body is straight and not rusted. The grille and front bumper are in great shape also. I swear every old Ranger I come across on Craigslist has a broke grille and bent bumper. The paint is faded black and the dash has a couple of cracks and interior needs a good cleaning. It's got new tires although they are on rusted rims.
The ad said that it ran great but had a broken timing belt. So I got it home and put a new timing belt on it. (anyone who wants to know you don't have to remove crank position sensor to change timing belt)
Changed the oil and filter. Also put a new fuel filter on it. Started right up and runs great. No leaks, doesn't burn oil. Just changed the break pads up front today.
My truck doesn't have gauge cluster with the tachometer. I was wondering if I can get '89-'92 gauge cluster w/tach and swap them out with no problems?
(Yes I straightened the bumber already)
I'll paint it in the spring.
