4 wheel isnt workin

my 93 ranger wont engage into 4wd, it was working perectly fine a few weeks ago and i bearly drove it since then, when i push the 4wd button the lights in the cab dim a bit then go back to normal..but the light on the dash doesnt come on and i cant feel the front wheels pulling at all, is there a common problem that someone can maybe help me with? thanks yaaaaawl

4x4 not working

hey my name is mike and i just had the same problem with mine,is the transfercase motor,its pretty easy to install your self.i got mine from L.M.C for $109 + tax. i called james duff and they said 90% of the time its the t-case motor.if you dont here a clik when you hit the botton then thats it.you also can get a test light and touch it to the wires going in to the motor if you got light the call l.m.c and order one up.if you need more help just ask.....

Most of the time the motor itself is ok, it's the contacts inside that need cleaning and the "bump-stop" needs replacing (I used a piece of 1/4" fuel line). A cheap and simple fix.

update

today i was at the car wash and when i got in to start her back up i noticed that the four wheel drive lowand it was actually working and then it turned off minutes later, any reasons why? ans thanks for all your input
