4" Rough Country Lift

I am looking for a 4" lift and I have read all the tech articles and I have decided on the Rough Country, since I don't do any hardcore wheelin and its pretty cheap. My only conern is that every article and thread that I have read has said that it is possible to damage your front differential because it doesn't let the axle flex as much as it is able. Can someone shed some light on this for me? When does it do the damage... when the suspension is compressed or fully decompressed. Also would I be better off with the blocks in the rear or the new springs they offer for $200 more.

the passenger drop bracket is just a drop down bracket and uses the stock bracket so it doesnt clear the front pig very well. skyjacker replaces the bracket entirely which clears the front diff so you wont run into that problem. i have the RC lift with 6 inch coils and ive never had that problem. but i dont wheel too often anymore. hope that helped a little bit.

Yes, this bracket hits the diff housing when the suspension compresses. You can avoid this by installing longer bumpstops, but this is mostly a bandaid fix for poor design by limiting the suspension's travel.

FWIW, over the last couple years I've heard a few sporadic reports that Rough Country has redesigned their bracket to fix this issue, but I have yet to see one report of someone actually receiving said bracket with their RC kit.

Awesome... Thanks for all the info... I might just save up for the skyjacker... just out of curiosity, does anyone have any pics of their damaged differential from this type of lift?
