I just put a 4" Rough Country suspension lift on a 97 Ranger 4X4 I bought for my son. It went on fine. The camber is out.

Can it be aligned with regular cam bushings?

Rough Country says 33X12.5X15's will fit. Are they telling the truth?

Will 10" wheels work?

Do I need sway bar drop brackets?

Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated.

4" lift and tire fitment

My 86 has 4" and clears 33s on 8" rims there tight on the front fenders. the
2nd gen rangers have biggre wheel openings so they should be a good fit..
10" rims will require the right back spacing to fit and turn right. Oregon reguired 1 1/2" fender flares to bring my truck into complince you may wanna check your local laws..
:icon_welder: I also extended the explorer sway bar links because the truck didn't handle right too tight cornered badly, lowering it should work also..

yes you can fit 33/12.50s 10 inch wheels will work with 3.75 back spacing and you need longer sway bar links you can buy them directly from skyjacker or super lift

8" wheels look so much better. They are alot easier on wheel bearings as well. The 33s will fit nicely under it. You may need to trim the back of the inner fender a little bit though. Its just plastic, no big deal.

You'll need to figure out what size bushings you need for the camber, but yes, it should be correctable no problem.

Took ya'lls advice and went with 8" wheels. The 33x12.5's fit great. No rubbing anywhere. The camber is adjusted as far as it will go but it's correct for now. Now I'm just waiting for u-joints and carrier bearings to go bad.

I need to replace the leaf spring brackets. They are almost rusted through.

I liked the Rough Country 4" lift. Easy install except for the existing rivots. I bought the wheels and tires through them also and that was a disaster. Don't do that! They just send your order to National Wheel and Tire. It took 2 weeks!

The center caps in the front aren't deep enough. Can I get some that will work?

i prefer a 10" rim. ive had xterrains on both. looks bigger and gives it a better stance. if you got a 4.0l expect the front springs to sag. i had to get a 2" leveling kit to make my truck sit level

beaglegun, Are you up on 33 yet? I would like to see it. I am thinking of putting the 4" Tuff Country on my 93 Xcab XLT and put 33 on it.

the problem with running 15x8 rims with a 12.5" tire is that you will have to run the rear tires at a really low PSI to get them to fully contact the ground to help with even tire wear..if i could do it over iw ould of gottem 15x10's just my opinion.

here is my 97' with 3" of lift and 33 x 12.50's only had to do minor trimming to the inner front fender flares:

That may make them wear more evenly, but they will also wear faster too (and it will reduce your fuel mileage some). I'd keep them at least at 30 PSI and just maintain their wear with proper tire rotation.

My 36x12.50r15 TSL SX's are wearing absolutely beautifully on my 15x8's. They have been for over 2 years now. I run the fronts at 35psi and the rears at 32psi. Same goes for my 35's previous to that.
