im looking for a 4' fiberglass cowl induction hood that fits 83-88 rangers. i cant find them ANYWHERE but ive seen two rangers online with them on, idk if maybe the two i saw were custom made or not. What im trying to figure out is do they exist? and if so wat company makes them. Can anybody help me out:icon_confused:?????????????????????????????? :icon_confused:

i remember seeing a company that made cowl hoods for those trucks its been a while back. ill see if i can find them in one of my old magazines. maybe harwood has them too,not for sure. you could always buy the "cowl" and graft it into your stock hood, they dont look as good (imo)but if you put some time into it might come out pretty good.

how do u plan on seeing over this thing.? that sounds like a pretty high cowl..

I agree that is kinda tall. But If I remeber there was a write up before the site change. But it was showing how the guy made a steel cowl hood. the way he did it was cut two parallel cuts done the lenght of the hood the with he wanted the cowl. He then cut two triangles the length of the cuts and hight of cowl you want. then you slowly spot weld the wedge shaped triangle in. and keep it small well spread welds to keep from warping the steel. it takes along time but is cheaper than fiberglass plus you made it. you can pick up a hood of cl for about 25 dollars and 5 dollars for scrap metal and a 12pack to your buddy for welding it in.
