The reason they can't sell them in the states is because they won't pass the federal roll over test.

Very popular truck. The police here use them. My next door neighbor has one. If I am not mistaken they actually assemble them in Brazil. That is where the really cool looking Ford Edge they sell here comes from.

This is fairly old news as we see almost this exact thread with a different color truck and a different location a couple times a year.

I'd rock that. Not too keen on the shortbed, though. Maybe a 5ft'er. Of course I haven't been around long enough to have seen previous ones.

Looks good, except the headlights and turn signals.

IMO every vehicle should have wrap around turn signals and a side marker on the mirrors. Not just big trucks.

When I deployed to Iraq in 2004 one of the vehicles we had to run around base was a 2002 Ford Ranger crew cab 4x4 diesel. Great little truck and tons of power. To bad the US is still lost in the 1800's on the whole vehicle concept. They can't pass rollover tests, emissions etc. Yeah right, its their excuse for not building them here. I bet with 0 emissions controls they would still pass emissions, my 84 ranger did and the emissions controls were ripped out of it. They fail emissions because of the emissions control devices. As for the rollover test fails, that's what happens when you let idiots drive or run the controls. Anyone who knows how to drive would know how to properly handle their vehicle to avoid such rollovers. Time to let common everyday people with common sense run the testing equipment instead of overpaid, underworked idiots.

Yes adsm that is very true. So lets change it up a bit. Have any of you seen the Ford Lobo pickup truck. I don't know it is just a south of the border Raptor or what. So far I have only seen it in commercials.

Believe me this isnt the first time I've seen one before
an the lobos are not raptors they just plain f150s trust me i see those all the time around here

I see the Mexican Fords all the time around here. I like them but it pisses me off that they get to bring them up here and drive em around. Makes me want one.

That is why the ones made in Europe that has more stringent emissions and safety
standards cant come to N America?

Ford is afraid the new larger Ranger will take sales away from it's precious flagship F-150 and risk it's 30-something year run as best selling full size truck. :nopityA:

It is because they are pretty much the same stinkin thing.

Making duplicate cars that compete against each other is stupid.
