4.56 gears vs. 4.88 gears for 33's

4.88's and save yourself some grief later on when you go to a larger tire.

I'm running 4.56's and 36" tires and it is FAR from ideal....

i noticed 4.88's were cheaper to... it's weird.
make an offer to maverick and see what happens. i think w/ 33's-- 4.56's would be fine. but idk for sure... hurry up and find out and let me know. lol.. i'll learn from your mistak...i mean experiences lol

Lol you are too much.

I want to errr on the side of wheelability, versus drivability because in not too much time I won't be DD this Mazda.

I am all tore up inside trying to decide what to do :bawling:

i'm debating on the same thing to tho. i gotta regear the d30 eventually to have 4x4. the 8.8 is built w/ 4.10's for now and will be under the b2 in a few weeks. and then i gotta figure out what gears i wanna do after the sas. either keep it 4.10's or go lower.. but how much lower??

I ran 35's and 37's with 4.56's.... I ALWAYS wanted more gear. Get the 4.88's, don't look back.

If you have a stick and do NOT plan on bigger tires go with the 4.56 -If on the other hand you have an auto and there is a chance you might go 35's later, then go with the 4.88's and save some $$$$$ ! I have had 4.56's with 31's and 33's and love them but both trucks are sticks. With the difference being less than 10 percent we are talking 250 rpm on the hiway anyway -Go with 4.88 :icon_thumby:

this is why i kept saying i was getting 4.88's... and its cheaper! and my truck is an auto so...

I'm running 32s and will be regearing to 4.88s. My poor old 3.0l shouldn't mind and plan on going with bigger tires in the future(next year?)

Go with 4.88's.

When you decide to go with up to 35's, your 4.88's will be perfect.

I've had both, they measure almost exactly the same :thefinger:

Get this, they measure 1 inch different... If you have low pressure on one yeah it's going to be be different... Brands and tread depth should make indifference too... But 33's are 1 inch shorter than 34's if they were the same size, they wouldn't call them 34's they would call them 33's!

Wow, don't open your eyes much do ya? :thefinger:

My 33's measured 32.35, my 35" Mudkings dead on 35", my 35" Krawlers were 34".... 37" toyo's were 36" and 37" MTR K's were dead on.

Tire manufacturer's have huge difference's in actual height, and Interco is known for running on the short side with a few exceptions. A 34" LTB could very easily be the same height as a 33" swamper/MT.... it happens!

Spesific examples sure, but it's not accurate to say "a 34" tire is the same size as a 33" tire"

Especially being there is differentiation on both the 33 AND the 34, so say the 34's actual measurement is 33.3" (under by .7) it would stand to reason that the same maufacture's 33" tire will actually measure 32.3 (under by .7) which means the 33" is still 1 inch shorter...

He said swamper 34", as in LTB.... I've had them, they're short. Most 33's do run the same size, the only advantage the LTB has is it's usually run on a skinny rim and has more tread depth then the average 33. The carcass is approx the same height.

I vote 4.88's, do it once... do it right!
