4/5 djm drop keep stock wheels for a bit

Hello to all. I have quick question if I may.
After seeing STMitch's white ranger awesome truck. I am picking up my 99 Ranger flareside tommorrow and wish to know can I install the 4/5 drop kit from DJM and still keep my wheels and tires on for a little bit. Or do they have to come off and go right to a low profile wheel tire package? I am going to upgrade but I wished to do it in stages.

Looks like a nice truck! What size are the tires on it right now? Most guys can get by running the stock tires and a 4/5 drop.
