You may have to grind just a touch off the top of one or two gear teeth to get the pin in like this...

I would have tried to find a rear end that has the gears you need, saved the trouble of setting up the gears in the carrier.
And if I was going that far, I would try to get a ranger 8.8 with those gears, bit stronger gears and don't have the spider gear issue that the 7.5 is known to have (grenading).

You are only changing your gears by like 10% anyways... Hardly seems worth the effort to put the gears in, especially for a 7.5
Ya I understand. I have looked for a 8.8 with the gears in there. But for now I am goin this route. Using what I have basically. I dont plan any major offroading. Afterall it is a 2.9 with low low miles and I want to get some use out of it. If I come across one reasonable with the gears I need down the road I will up grade.
Figured thats what you were gunning for. Don't get the guy's wrong they were just tossing the upgrade out there as alot of newb folks dont know. Not everone is made of money so make do right! Keep us updated on how this goes for ya.
