4.0l SOHC freewheeling or interference engine

I have look far and wide under every rock. people said is one or the other, as anyone taking this engine a part to find out? is not i'll do so as my engine kill it shelf.

The 4.0 sohc is an interference engine but barely. Exhaust valves will kiss the pistons but shouldn't cause massive catastrophic failure.

I picked up SOHC motor to do a swap in my truck last summer. the cam chains had jumped. Every valve had made an imprint on the piston tops and every valve was bent.
