Hey guys, I have a 94, 4.0l and had a few questions about the most appropriate way to build a custom cold air/air cleaner (w/e u wanna call it) system. My current set up includes, Jba cat forward system (headers), custom exhaust (side pipe), and I ported the shit out of my lower intake while changing the lower intake gasket. I also bored the upper intake for a larger throttle body. I wanted to make the air cleaner/ Maf sensor as efficient as the rest of the intake. A good air cleaner is easy (pleated gauze), but what about that maf sensor, I ported one intake runner bigger than that maf housing haha. I noticed a three liter housing is less restrictive, and have read about 5.0 stang maf sensor. Has any one found these maf mods to work, or is it unnessacary for the application. Keep in mind my ported intake, and larger throttle body. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
