I have recently done a swap from a 2.8L motor to a 4.0L out of a 96 explorer, and I am having some problems getting it running. I left the harness intact on the motor and spliced wires as I could see nessary on the chiltons manual. I ran new fuel lines and used the fuel tank off the explorer as well.

Now as to what happens:
The truck will fire right up and then pretty much immediatly die, it will sputter kind of but it just dies. I have since tried a few things to get it running:
1. Checked fuel pressure and it is ok
2. Checked all my grounds and they are ok
3. Started the motor with quickstart... ie I opened the throttle and sprayed it in the air intake, and it will run fine!
4. ive been trieing all my wiring to look for a problem and I believe it still could be but I havent found a culpret
5. Firing order is fine

so thats about it, im running the tk4 tranny with it right now off the explorer 4.0L computer, and I pulled the entire wiring harness out of the explorer. Please any help is appreciated I know I should have the mazda tranny with it and such... but i just want it running for now...
