Im having this weird starting problem. If it turn the truck off after it gets to operating temperature it wont start back up unless it sits for about 5-10 minutes after turning it off. I'm thinking the fuel mixture might be too rich flooding the engine. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

I think my dad has a code reader, ill check. Thanks

you dont need a code reader. Just a paper clip.

Jump the proper pins on the diagnostic plugs and count the CEL flashes.

you may have a leaking injector/injectors... have you tried putting the throttle WOT under cranking. This should throw the ECU into "clear flood mode" and allow it to start fairly quickly if it is indeed flooded.

If you mean completely flooring the gas then trying to start, then yes my dad suggested that and it didn't work. I'm 17 years old and know a good deal but i'm still learning on the go. haha

well just make sure that you are FLOORING (WOT) the gas WHILE you are cranking it over. THis will shut the injectors down while cranking so it has a chance of clearing the flood.

If you floor it.. then let go of the gas, then try and start it... well that wont do anything.

doesn't sound like a fuel problem to me really...

it cranks full speed? we need a little more details, does the exhaust when it's hot smell funny at all?
