4.0 swapped runs great/ dies when gas pedal is pushed

I just swapped a 4.0 from a 1991 exploder auto trans into my 90 BII with manual trans. it starts and sounds pretty good but when you press the gas pedal it dies instantly. It doesnt rev or anything. It did the same thing in the exploder, thats why i got it for free. Any help would be greatley appreciated, race day is in 6 days, and SPEEDTV will be here on the island in 3 weeks. I need to get my bogger in top shape ASAP. Thanks in advance, Doug

Run the self-tests and check the fuel pressure regulator. Something is making it run a mixture FAR off stoichiometric. Also inspect the spark plugs.
