Hi All,..

I have a '94 4x4 Ranger with a very tired stock(4.0L) engine. I found a stock low miles 2001 4.0L SOHC with tranny, harness, brain and all the components....I'd like to put the SOHC in my '94 Ranger. Will this transfer to my '94 Ranger easily?:icon_confused:

It's been done. IIRC the biggest problem is height. The SOHC uses a different oil pan setup that makes the overall height of the engine taller, which makes for some issues with clearance at the engine cross member.

I would say that the swap would be far from bolt in or plug and play, but will likely be easier than putting a v8 in.
