I have an account on here I just cant seem to remember the password and user name nor the email I used when I made it.
So some background I have a 1984 ranger prerunner that I bought when I was 16 I had 0 fab skills and I didnt know a whole lot about cars/trucks. Some time has gone buy I have been hanging around shops/friends learning all I can about fabrication and vehicles. So after a wile I started making some changes now I have decided it is time for a whole front end overhaul. I didnt want to spend the money on a 2.3 and try to get more power after some searching I found a 1995 ford explorer that had been in an accident. I picked it up for 450$ 180k on it Got it home ran a compression test and it was suprisingly good all with in 8psi the bottom end seems to be solid. Now I know I want some more power out of it but I cant justify tearing the whole thing down and building it from the bottom up. I am pretty set on taking the heads off to get ported polished/resurfaced, porting polish and gasket match the intake, pick up a mild cam to gain some torque. With the basics headers colder air intake ext. Now with that will the ecu have a heart attack and not let the truck run correctly I dont know very much about tuning programs or options with the 4.0 I have started to do some research but havent been real lucky yet. And also with that what will I be looking at power wise. Also doing the swap I should be ok just using the whole explorer wiring harness correct I have 0 wiring in my ranger. I am not very worried about the swap because there is nothing left on the truck to get in the way.

I still have a lot of grinding to do... and yes this will be getting a full tube core support.

I am also going to be cutting a lot of the firewall to fill all of those holes correctly and make brackets for everything that I will need to mount.
