Well, I just went and got a new starter. In another thread, I mentioned I just put a new clutch in, from a 2.9L clutch/flywheel, etc., to the 4.0L clutch/flywheel, etc. So I needed to get a new 4.0L starter.

I have two wires, one is the positive, and the other I'm not too sure of (it is the right next to the positive wire). I wired the positive wire to the positive terminal on the starter. On the starter, there is also a terminal for the ignition switch. I connected that other wire (the one that is next to the positive wire) to the ignition switch wire on the starter. Try to see if it works, turn the key and get nothing. I figure maybe it isn't grounded, so I bolt it up into place. Turn the key, nothing.

EDIT - I just took it back to Schucks and they tested it, the starter is fine. I'm almost certain it is just screwed up with that ignition switch. Where can I tap in to to get it working? At a relay?

So you have switched from an auto to manual? Did the truck start with the 2.9 clutch and starter combo?

On the back of the 4.0 starter there are three nuts. Small one is for the solinoid, small wire. Red battery cable hooks up to one of the other larger nuts. Not sure if it matters which one. Have you changed any wiring at the starter solinoid on the fender?

Thanks for the quick reply, but I figured it out.

The person I bought the truck swapped from an auto to a manual, yes.
