It absolutely matters, you'll find out very quickly which way is backwards when the cap goes up in smoke the first time that power is applied to it!
Electrolytic caps like these almost always have the negative side labelled...there is usually a stripe or - - - - - - something like that on the side of the cap that tells you which leg is negative.
