hey guys, you know the story.. long time lurker now i need some help.

ive got a 93 explorer crawler that i want to setup for basically all toggle switch power with a master shut off in case of emergency.

my question lies with the 4.0 ohv..

what wires do i need to send power to to make it run?

For the engine to run you need to turn on power to the EEC relay
EEC Relay powers the Computer(EEC), fuel pump relay, fuel injectors, coil, and EDIS(spark)

Diagram here: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/EDiagrams/files/Diagram_Enginecontrols4_0_3_0_1of3.JPG

You also need Battery light circuit to start alternator working, green wire on alternator, it needs 12volts at startup so alternator can start to generate power, if left on with engine off, battery will drain.

I think the heated part of the O2 sensors are powered but another fuse, that would have to be powered at start up

Don't recommend bypassing inertia switch, but you can make it easier to reach, and carry a spare :)

For master switch just use another starter relay to cut battery power, alternator B+ would be hooked up on battery side of this relay so alternator power didn't continue to power the system.

awesome thanks for the help!
where is the inertia switch? would probably be a thing to know where it its!

In cars it is in the trunk usually.
In trucks and SUVs the passenger footwell, just above carpet, or in kick panel.

Google: Ford inertia switch

So you know what to look for, usually small black box with button on the top.

12volts in from fuel pump relay and 12volts out to fuel pump, so two connections.

If one is triggered, cuts power to pump, it can be reset by pushing the button, but it will become more sensitive after that, i.e. slamming the door can trigger it again.
